A former Morgan Stanley financial analyst and her husband, an ex-hedge fund analyst at ING, were sentenced to a year and half each on Tuesday for insider trading.
But in an unusual twist to the case, U.S. District Judge Colleen McMahon sentenced Jennifer Xujia Wang and her husband, Ruopian Chen, to serve their sentences one after the other to allow for at least one of them to be with their infant son!

I guess that we can smile at quite a few things from this report:
- Justice is done on a case of insider trading, which is so hard to prove, in general!
- Even in the so-called "materialistic" USA, the judges have chosen to take into consideration the plight of the innocent infant
- The two jailed folks have been asked to pay up part of their ill-gotten wealth!
- Wonder if the two jailed folks are also smiling all the way to the bank, with the quiet confidence that only the tip of the iceberg has come into the attention of SEC authorities!
